New Stuff

MauiWe visited Okinawa for a few days. I wasn't really sure what to expect, but I thought it would be like Tokyo with some beaches thrown in. Okinawa is an interesting place, distinct from other parts of Japan. Apparently, the people there are independent minded, similar to the people of Hawaii, and they don't necessarily consider themselves Japanese. Also, the presence of the US military is a thorn in the side of Okinawans, who would like to see the American bases there closed. The last land battle of World War II was fought on Okinawa, and there are many museums and memorials dedicated to the many people who died here.

MauiPictures from Maui added. Very cool. It was nice to go to Hawaii without going to Honolulu. Anyone who visits Hawaii and only goes to Waikiki is encouraged to try visiting a different island this time.

Pictures from Ensenada, Mexico added. Not many pictures = not much to see in Ensenada.
